BEST FRIEND
My best friend,
An angel from above did send.
Miraculously appearing,
Steadfast and never disappearing.
This companion from on high,
Enlightened to understand each and every sigh.
Understands my life-long journeys,
Consoles and never doubts or worries.
Superabundant love and hope,
Blessed with courage to ever cope.
Thank you Lord for sending me,
Such a beautiful soul to see.

HEARTS REACH OUT
Hearts that are joined
through friendship and love,
are treasures to share,
God’s gift from above.
The hearts that we touch,
the friends that we make,
give wings to our spirit,
renewing our faith.
No smile goes unnoticed,
no gesture ignored,
when hearts soar together
In the joy of our Lord.
God’s Spirit will move us
to great heights we will climb,
when our hearts are united,
in this journey through time.

THE KEY
In the early evening sky, the setting sun reflects the flame in my heart.
The sensation was sparked by your beautiful smile and the gleam in your eye.
Realizing the strength of this feeling grows so much stronger when we are apart.
Only to articulate the knowledge my loyalty, admiration, and my love will never
die.
Standing alone as the sun slowly sets at the end of each day, my mind is with
you.
Such beautiful sights are the stars, and the moon, reminds me of love once had.
The journey through life as many emotions, but I know my love is true.
Without your love, deep down inside I have a heart that is sad.
Each night with the moon and stars there is hope as I pray with words no one
hears.
Knowing tomorrow brings another day, and life must go on with or without love.
With the Lord as my power, and His love inside, I have no fears.
Someday to walk hand and hand with you among the stars and the moon above.
After each setting sun, I do look forward to tomorrow.
I am a strong man, and I will never live in the past.
For yesterday has all the pain and it's sorrow.
I have thoughts of holding you, and finding true love at last.
After the twilight seeing the moon so lonely among the stars there is an
emptiness I bare
With my thoughts of knowing the wonderful, and beautiful woman that you are to
me.
The mystery of life is to live the best we can with our love to share.
To unlock this love, only you hold the key.

INNER PEACE
I'm not wealthy, nor am I poor.
I'm not worthy, to walk in your footsteps.
When I do wrong, you lead me down the straight and narrow road.
When I end up off the track, you're there to help me, like you
have a thousand times before.
You're everywhere I look, like in the tiniest of books and
in the little boy down the street.
This is why your glistening light, can put the whitest rose to shame.
Having the full essence of your being within, is what I cherish most of all.
Your river of divine affection, is a clean current that fills my temple.
When I'm down, you lift me up to where the clouds run free.
All I need to do is call on you, and you're there with me.
Now I know I never want to fall, short of your glorious presence.
Since I've been found!

PASSIONATE ANGEL
To a passionate angel, that walks among men.
There's not many like you, and there's never been.
Your own needs are ignored, when someone has fell,
for the passion inside you is always running to help.
And if you ever feel down, and need a helping hand,
remember this poem and these words there in.
You may not stand so tall, but we're always looking up to you.
And for those of us who know, we appreciate the things you do.
These words are to let you know, for you someone out there cares.
And at night before bed, you'll always be in my prayers.
Thank you for being exactly who you are.
There will be a special place in heaven, for the goodness in your heart.

THE RAINBOW OF GOD
When dark clouds I see
bring only fear,
the Rainbow of God
shines bright and clear.
When terror strikes
my heart with grief,
the Rainbow of God
brings welcome relief.
When my life is so broken
by Satan's deceit,
the Rainbow of God
is a circle complete.
It is my hope
when my hope is all gone
the Rainbow of God
after the storm.

SPIRITUALLY
Sometimes I wish I were an Angel,
So I could fly, you see.
And watch over my dad,
The way he watched over me.
My life wasn't always easy,
Growing up was really tough.
But the love he showed me,
Was always more than enough.
He took me with him,
Almost every place he went.
But those places I couldn't go,
I'll always cherish the love he sent.
If you hadn't noticed,
My dad means a lot to me.
I couldn't go on this last trip with him,
But I know I did, "Spiritually".

OUR FOUNDING FATHERS
They girded themselves with courage
And out their lives on the line;
Long under Great Britain's oppression,
They knew that now was the time.
To stand and be counted for freedom,
And, if needed, to sacrifice life.
They pledged their fortunes and honor
To break the chains of a tyrant's strife.
Freedom's embers had fanned to flames
When Patrick Henry blew the breath,
With, "I know not what course others may take,
But, Give me Liberty! or give me death!"
Then Richard Henry Lee arose
And sealed the despot's fate,
With, "These colonies are, and by right should be,
Free and Independent States!"
Then Congress appointed a committee bold:
Thomas Jefferson would draw the draft,
And five great American Patriots there
Declared a freedom that would last!
A great nation based on Equality,
That boasts liberty for All
Was born there in their hearts that day;
They'd rather boldly stand than crawl!
But this nation has a problem;
We're becoming slaves again.
We have listened to the lie of Satan:
"God shouldn't rule the affairs of men!"
So we are losing our great freedoms
As we yield to the wordily press;
We believe that liberty means license,
And that's choking our country to death!
It's no longer, "Love my neighbor,"
But, now, it's Everything is mine!"
And it's that ugly, selfish attitude
That is making us morally blind!
We must turn back to the Saviour;
We must stand upon God's Word,
Or the time will steal upon us
When freedom's voice is never heard!

EARTHLY ANGELS
God brings us friends who understand
the depth of who we are...
friends who lift our spirits
even higher than the stars.
He gives us friends who help us see
the worth of how we live...
by loving one another
and learning ways to serve and give.
Our special friends are angels,
who are there to bring us hope...
they offer love and laughter,
and ways for us to cope.
God, bless the friends You gave me,
they mean so much to me...
my earthly angels shining,
the brightest stars I've ever seen.

LET PEACE BE OUR GOAL...
Kids in trouble
longing for a touch
where's the peace
that we need so much.
The violence raging
all around
in the bigger cities
and the smaller towns.
Something missing
in our schools
no longer living
by the golden rule.
Children needing
a place to hide
with hearts crying out
from the pain inside.
guns aren’t the answer
for the wounds they bear
unleashing all the anger
thinking no one cares.
Sad world we live in,
how are we to win
protect all our children
before they crucify them.
Let’s join together
to make peace our goal
ask God for the answer...
pray for gun control.

HER GUARDIAN ANGEL
I watch him as a father,
A good man in so many ways,
Keeps his arms sheltered around her,
Each and every day.
His advice is given in order,
To make her life more complete.
His stern hands have love
When she falters down lifes' streets
Teaches her the meaning of trust,
Honor and goodwill;
For he has learned from his life,
These qualities we must instill.
He provides the things needed
And gives kindness from his heart;
For he knows very well,
She needs a loving start.
He is a father and protector
And a friend in every way;
For he watches over his daughter
Like a guardian angel in all of her days.

TROY, YOU ARE....
You have done so much for me.
I want to say thank you
for caring and loving me
the way that you do.
You are a wonderful man
in every possible way.
The love I have for you
grows stronger everyday.
You are the man that I love,
you are the man of my dreams,
you are the one that holds
my heart, my soul, my everything.
How did I survive
not having you with me.
This I will never know,
but now you must see.
I love you more
as each day goes by.
I want you to feel it in my heart
and see it in my eyes.
You are the man that I love,
you are the man of my dreams,
you are the one that holds
my heart, my soul, my everything.
You also have a need for love,
I can see it in your smile.
You have everything I want,
you make it all worth while.
My days are not complete
without thinking of you.
My nights are not fulfilled
unless I'm holding on to...
The man that I love,
The man of my dreams,
The man that holds
my heart, my soul, my everything.

LIFE
How come it hurts so much?
Kills you with the slightest touch.
Even though you know you're right,
you still seem to lose the constant fight.
Ever notice how things get so off course,
how a straight path suddenly begins to fork.
Before you know it one option becomes two,
as if the entire world spins faster and doesn't wait for you
Why doesn't it slow down, or even stop?
You never have the chance to be at the top.
But wait soon, and you might see,
how similar someone else's life might be.
Things may go, before they came,
and someone, somewhere, might feel your pain.
No one in the world is ever alone,
to you, their faces may never be shown.
Just remember that we are all equal,
and all get cut by this very sharp knife,
that's why we call this painful game life.

FOR DAD,
(I'd climb the highest mountain)
My father dear, I hope you know
how much you mean to me...
the times we've shared together
are my sweetest memories.
Family drives on Sundays,
playing cards the whole night through...
softball in the summer,
and my favorite coach was "you,"
You've been a great provider,
my father and my friend...
I hold the memories fondly
and I'll keep them to the end.
I know it's hard to mention
those feelings of the heart...
but Dad, I know you love me;
I've known it from the start.
I've found some traits in me, Dad
that at times I've seen in you...
the analytical thinking
and your sense of humor, too.
Dad, the woman that I am now
is because of who you are...
I'd climb the highest mountain
to catch you the brightest star.

A MAN I SHALL BE
Home I wish to leave soon
For a cold world enter I may,
from a warm cradle in which I lay.
Home I wish to leave soon
So a pillar for the roof I can one day be
which till yesterday had sheltered me.
Home I wish to leave soon
So that in a storm or deluge
into myself I’d learn to take refuge.
Home I wish to leave soon
So I’d no longer be a life created by man
But a man who life create can.
Home I wish to leave soon
For in a cold world tomorrow I may
Make a warm cradle for my love to lay.

SEE MY MOTHER
I'm going back to my home place
To see my Mother there;
It's been quite a while;
I've been busy, but I do care.
I talk to her on the phone each week
just to hear her lovely voice;
I enjoy those moments greatly,
But to see her is better if I had a choice.
She's not as spry as she once was,
I remember her throughout the years;
I see her body change to frailty,
Almost brings me to tears.
I remember the great times,
More than I do the bad;
She is a caring Mother and a friend,
When I talk to her, she's never sad.
I know her days are numbered;
She has prepared herself each day
To meet her God in Heaven;
I want to keep her here longer, I pray.

THE LION IS A LAMB
Inside of every father
is a heart that truly cares...
He may not always show it,
but His love is always there.
He tries to hide his feelings
so his softer side won’t show...
but deep inside we know it...
how much he loves us so!
Dad, it’s time to tell you,
it’s okay to shed those tears...
we know our lion is just a lamb,
by your gentleness over the years.
Your were always strong to guide us,
(but we knew when you would cry)...
for every time we let you down,
a tear came to your eye.
Today we have a message,
something special we must say...
We want to say “we love you”
and Happy Father’s Day.

"I AM BUT YOU"
If you lost your ears and could not hear,
the thunder of a Colorado waterfall after a spring rain
Should silence surround you and deprive you of the sounds of
bright red oak leaves rustling in an October breeze.
If you could never again hear the deafening silence created by
a winter snowfall.
I would listen once more to the calming voice that has given
me strength for over 30 years and give mine to you.
If you lost your eyes and could not see,
the steam from the nostril of newborn foal on an April morning.
If the grim reaper of darkness took all the light from your world
and wrapped you in a blanket of blackness
Should you never again see the sensual curve of a woman's bosom
I would look one last time at the aged face that has brought me so much joy,
and observe the raised eyebrow I have tried so hard to imitate and give
mine to you.
If you lost your sense of touch and could not feel,
the comfort of a pair of well worn leather gloves;
Should your nerves all die and leave you as a soul trapped in a dead body
If you could not feel the burning cold of a winter wind upon your face
I would touch the gray bristling beard I have known since I was a child,
and brush across my lips the rough hands that have dusted me off each time
I have fallen in my life and give mine to you.
These senses would not leave me
Each beat of my heart pumps not my blood, I did not create it
My ears, eyes, and my sense of touch are not mine
My body parts would return home
They come from the genes of another
Father I am but you.
